Discipline

Tauranga Boys' College believes in maintaining high standards of discipline.

The Statement of Aims and school rules provide clear guidelines for behaviour and it is expected that the whole school will adhere to these guidelines.

In a school such as ours which offers a wide range of activities, discipline is fundamental to the well-being of all concerned. A well-disciplined atmosphere is achieved at Tauranga Boys' College through the collective effort of a caring teaching and administrative staff who believe in the individual's right to be able to make the most of every opportunity.

In 2000 the College adopted the vertical form or whanau structure and one of the aims of this is to encourage peer discipline through the mixing of seniors and juniors. It is the duty of the whole school staff to insist upon regular routine and standards of behaviour so that discipline becomes not an isolated incident but rather a fundamental part of the school's daily existence.
