Our major cultural activities include Music, Drama, Debating, Art and Kapahaka.

In recent years Tauranga Boys' College together with Tauranga Girls' College have produced many outstanding school productions. The quality of performance has been most professional, illustrating the enthusiasm and energy that only young people can demonstrate. The quality of performance has won wide acclaim throughout our district. This has provided an opportunity for a large number of students to develop their music and dramatic skills together with providing a great social experience.

The Tauranga Boys' College Big Band has won National titles regularly over recent years. It has become a tradition for the Big Band to make a tour of North Island schools each year to provide the young musicians with many opportunities for performing in front of large audiences.

The art produced by our students for a number of exhibitions has also drawn wide acclaim from many art critics from throughout the district.

Over many years Tauranga Boys' College has developed a fine tradition for a large number of sporting activities. We are currently among the top three schools in New Zealand in Kayaking, Cross Country Running, Volleyball, Rowing and Tennis. Our Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Rugby and Cricket have also competed and won acclaim as among the top ten schools in New Zealand.

While we strive for excellence in all sporting and cultural activities there is a great deal of opportunity to compete on a social level as a recreational activity.
