Congratulations to all our prizewinners at the Senior Academic Prizegiving held last Thursday evening. A special congratulations to our top prizewinners:
DUX - James Thwaite (pictured right), awarded the Norman Clarke Trophy for the top academic student. James was also presented with the HOBEC Bursary for 1st place in Level 3 English, the University of Auckland Scholarship, the Cooney Lees & Morgan Prize for 1st in Level 3 History, the Ricoh Prize for top Arts Scholar, the Westpac Prize 1st in University Calculus, and a Donald & Minola Grant Scholarship.
Proxime Accessit - Liam Ransley, awarded the University of Auckland Faculty of Science Scholarship, the Ricoh Award for Top Science Scholar, the Higgins Contractors Award for 1st place in Level 3 Mathematics with Calculus and the Bay Office Products Depot Prize for 1st place in Level 3 Biology.
Owens Family Scholarship - Brad Hemingway
Bay Radiology Health Science Prize - James Opie Principal’s Scholarships - Israel Turner and Dylan Sperling. Blair Kiddle Memorial Scholarship - Ben Warren
Monty Ohia Trophy - this is awarded to the best Year 13 Maori student, taking into consideration the traits that best define Monte Ohia, academic excellence and a commitment to the wider life of the school. This year the trophy is awarded to Head Prefect, Te Puruhi Moana. Te Puruhi was also awarded the Norman Morris Prize for Head Prefect and the Frank Lawson Memorial Cup, a trophy awarded to the Year 13 student who has contributed the most to the school, encompassing academic, cultural and sporting endeavour as well as recognizing school spirit.
