Principal's Welcome to 2015

Principal's Welcome to 2015

A warm welcome to all for the 2015 year on behalf of the Staff and Board of Trustees of Tauranga Boys’ College.
I look forward to sharing the successes of the year with you and your support in making TBC “Best for Boys”. A special welcome to boys and parents new to the college and to the staff who join the college this year.
You will find the college a vibrant and supportive community, focused on realising the potential of our boys. We acknowledge our responsibility to grow the young boys who join us this week into good men. I also stress the importance of the role you, as parents, and the wider community have in nurturing, guiding and shaping these boys so they can achieve their potential. I remind you of the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” and I am confident by working together we can achieve our shared goal of growing boys into good men who will make meaningful contributions to our fine country.
The College continues to grow in popularity with large numbers returning and new students arriving to take advantage of the wide range of educational opportunities available at the College. This demand reinforces the reputation the College is held in by the community and supports our vision of being “best for boys”. It is clearly evident from our numbers in the senior school that senior boys are choosing to return to the College to better their educational qualifications; to ensure they can pursue tertiary study of their choice or improve their prospects of employment once they leave school.
Our numbers at Year 9 equals our largest intake at the College with 432 in attendance. Al l our newsletters are mailed electronically and posted on our website. We would appreciate having your son update your email details at the School Office. If you do not have access to electronic mail, your son will be able to pick up a hard copy of the newsletter from the school office, Monday fortnightly.
